The meeting was attended by more than 30 people from 10 different organizations including scientific and design organizations and institutes, railway companies and public organizations. The topical issues discussed during the meeting were related to HSR construction technologies. The key objective of the meeting was to develop a consolidated position of the expert community on the validity of the adopted design and design solutions for the ballastless track structure for the Moscow-Kazan HSR.
Opening remarks were delivered by the Deputy General Director of JSC RZD, the General Director of JSC High-Speed Rail Lines Alexander Misharin. He noted that the work on designing the Moscow — Kazan HSR was in the final stage. In the course of designing, the basic design, technical and constructive solutions for all elements of the HSR infrastructure were substantiated.
"According to the results of the public technological and cost audit conducted by Ernst & Young, it is confirmed that the engineering surveys were carried out in the required volume and in full accordance with the task and the program of their implementation," he stressed.
During the meeting, the participants assessed the risks and discussed the use of the ballastless track structure CRTS III RUS designed for Russia by “Eryuan”. This structure is an innovative design solution for the planned operational conditions of HSR and will be used in Russia for the first time.
The participants noted that the design solutions for ballastless track structure presented in the design documentation largely affected the rail line cost and were the determining factor in designing energy saving, railway automation and telemechanics systems, communications and all floor systems for traffic control and safety.
At the end of the meeting, it was decided to approve CRTS III RUS structure as the most appropriate for operational conditions of the Moscow-Kazan HSR and to test and certify the elements and components of this structure on the experimental circle of JSC "VNIIZHT".
