The infrastructure projects in the Far East were one of the topics discussed during the visit of the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev to Harbin.
The Vice-Prime Minister Yury Trutnev and the Deputy Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Wang Yang discussed the joint Russian-Chinese transport projects in the Far East, the press service of the Ministry of the Far East Development reports.
The Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Presidential Envoy in the Far Eastern Federal district Yury Trutnev and Mr. Wang Yang held the meeting in Harbin as co–chairs of the Intergovernmental Russian-Chinese Commission for cooperation and development of the Far East and the Baikal region of the Russian Federation and the North-East of the PRC.
The co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Commission discussed the implementation of projects of the Primorye-1 and Primorye-2 cross-border transport corridors, the creation of a cross-border territory of advanced development near the crossing-point Pogranichny, the construction of a high-speed railway line from Mudangjiang to Vladivostok.
During Yuri Trutnev's visit to Harbin, the opening ceremony of years of Russian-Chinese interregional cooperation took place. Moreover, it was planned to hold a number of meetings with representatives of Chinese companies.
As Gudok.ru already reported in early November 2017, the Russian Minister for the Development of the Far East Alexander Galushka and the General Director of China Railway Dongfang Group Cai Zemin representing the interests of the Corporation China Railway Group Limited, discussed the construction of the Harbin-Vladivostok high — speed rail line. For the project of construction of a high-speed rail line from Harbin to Vladivostok it’s necessary to build more than 380 km of tracks and 12 stations. A line from Mudanczyan to Harbin is being laid, therefore the railway line Mudanczyan — Vladivostok will be linked to railways of China. It is planned that the speed will be 250 km/h. According to preliminary calculations, the project may cost up to $ 19 billion.
