The Legislative Assembly Committee on Transport of the Nizhny Novgorod Region has approved a zero tax rate on the property of JSC "Russian Railways" for the project of the “Moscow-Kazan” High-Speed Rail (HSR-2). The preferences offered by the regional government till 2024 will affect only new facilities of the future main line, of which the first phase will be implemented on the Moscow-Vladimir section by 2023. The final decision concerning the privileges for monopoly will be made by the deputies of the Regional Parliament at the meeting on January 25. It should be mentioned that the decision to build a part of the HSR to Kazan via Nizhny Novgorod will be made after the construction of the HSR to Vladimir, taking into account the road cost recovery.
