Minister of Transport Maksim Sokolov and President of JSC “RZD” Oleg Belozerov took a stand for the earliest implementation of HSR projects

This year, during the forum "1520 Strategic Partnership" in Sochi, the HSR theme was mentioned in every session in various contexts. The Russian Minister of Transport Maxim Sokolov and the President of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov paid special attention to the project of the Moscow-Kazan HSR. In particular, during the plenary discussions the Minister focused on the significance of this infrastructure project for economic growth, and the head of Russian Railways noted the high stage of the project readiness.

"Today we are talking about the Moscow-Kazan HSR project as about the first step of the Moscow-Beijing high-speed corridor which is a characteristic step forward that is not only creating new transport links, but is also regarded by us as a new stage in the life of mega-cities and the multiplier of industry," noted Sokolov.

In the framework of the forum, a meeting between the management of JSC Russian Railways and the representatives of the German business circles, in particular Siemens AG, Deutsche Bahn AG, Strabag AG, Vossloh Fastening Systems GmbH and Schaeffler AG, was held.

The key topic of the meeting was the potential cooperation in projects to create a network of high-speed roads in Russia, including the Moscow-Kazan HSR as an integral part of the Eurasian High-Speed Moscow-Beijing Transport Corridor.

"It is necessary to take into account our latest developments associated with international banks, infrastructure bonds and the participation of JSC Russian Railways in the project. This should be reflected in their [German initiative] financial proposal which should be adjusted," Misharin said.
